Fort Wayne, Ind.— The Edward M. and Mary McCrea Wilson Foundation has awarded a grant of $5,000 to Easterseals Arc of Northeast Indiana for assistive technology for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Assistive technology helps people with disabilities gain independence; increase self-sufficiency; build social networks; and achieve personal goals, such as gaining employment or improving health and wellness.
Funds from the grant will help support the use of virtual reality technology in developing skills for successful employment in the community.
