This beloved community event will still take place in 2020 – just with a few fun new twists!
Whitley Crossings Neighborhood Corporation (WCNC) recently announced its plans for the 2020 Walk of Trees event. The festive town favorite will be open to the public for just three days – December 2, 3 and 4. The format and location of the event will look different this year.
“We are excited to have this event both in person and via a mobile auction,” Jason Meyer, President and CEO of Whitley Crossings said. “If people choose to come to the event, they will have an opportunity to purchase raffle tickets to win some of the trees or bid on the silent auction trees. For those unable to come to the in-person event, they will be able to bid on the silent auction trees from anywhere.”
The Walk of Trees will take place at The Van Buren Event Center located at 301 W. Van Buren St., Columbia City, Ind.
“It seemed safest to move the event to The Van Buren this year because we can better social distance than years past at the Clugston,” Amber Sparkman, Housing Manager said. “The new venue allows a one-way flow of traffic and is much more spacious.”
The Walk of Trees will be open to the public on Dec. 2, 3 and 4 from 5 to 8 p.m. In addition, there will be daytime hours available on Dec. 3 and 4 from 11 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Whitley Crossings is accepting registrations for those who want to participate by entering a tree into the Walk. Please visit whitleycrossings.org and click on “Walk of Trees.”
All tree winners must pick up their trees on Saturday, Dec. 5 from 8 a.m. to noon.
