Easterseals Arc of Northeast Indiana has received a grant of $1,500 from the Benevolence Committee of Plymouth Congregational Church to support respite services.
Respite services provide a break for caregivers of individuals with disabilities, and Easterseals Arc is the only provider in Allen County with a house dedicated to respite services. The grant from Plymouth Congregational Church provides funds for yard games, board games, DVDs, video games, and sensory items such as a bean bag chair, weighted blankets, textured items, sensory lights, and a sound machine to provide white noise.
The respite house has been closed since mid-March due to the coronavirus pandemic but is scheduled to reopen June 1 with new procedures and capacity limits.
