Passages recently presented Mr. George Schrumpf with an award for his service on its Board of Directors. Schrumpf served on the Passages executive board for six years (or two terms). He also served on the Passages finance committee and development committee.
“I would like to thank Passages for the opportunity to serve on the Executive Board for the last six years. It has without a doubt been the most rewarding position that I have ever been honored to serve on,” Schrumpf said. “The opportunity to help provide a meaningful and productive life for the clients of Passages and to get to know many of them has made me aware of the amazing individuals in our community with disabilities. Those individuals with disabilities have afforded me the ability to recognize the critical needs that Passages and our community provides and must continue to advance in the future.”
Jason Meyer, President and CEO of Passages, said the organization recently welcomed a new board member. Lisa Peppler, Finance Manager for Parkview Whitley and Parkview Warsaw, joined the board after serving on the finance committee.
“I’ve lived here all my life, and I wanted to give back to the community,” Peppler said. “I had known about Passages, but when I attended a Getting to Know Passages event, I was amazed by the services offered. It was inspiring, and I wanted to be a part of it.”
Passages’ mission is: “Passionately leading or assisting people with disabilities into a thriving and meaningful life.” Meyer said having a strong membership in the board of directors helps the organization accomplish that mission.
