Fort Wayne, Ind. — The Carson and Rosemary Noecker Family Foundation recently awarded a grant of $20,000 to Easterseals Arc of Northeast Indiana for operating expenses.
Operating support, which is not restricted to a specific program or service, helps pay for resources that are essential to fulfilling Easterseals Arc’s purpose of leading the way to full equity, inclusion, and access for people with disabilities, families and communities. Easterseals Arc provides a wide range of services that enrich education, enhance health, expand employment and elevate community. Programs include employment services, day programs, supported living, respite care, recreation therapy, behavior consulting and more.
With the support of the grant funding, Easterseals Arc will help individuals with disabilities:
- Increase community integration and inclusion
- Improve life skills
- Improve workforce readiness
- Improve communication skills
- Explore new interests
In addition to supporting individuals, Easterseals Arc benefits the community by improving understanding of neurodiversity, reducing negative stigmas about disabilities, reducing stress for caregivers and addressing local labor shortages through inclusive workforce development.
Easterseals Arc has more than 1,200 individuals enrolled in services and assists hundreds more through outreach to their families, friends and employers.
