Fort Wayne, Ind. — The Flora Dale Krouse Foundation recently awarded a $10,000 grant to Easterseals Arc of Northeast Indiana in support of performing arts opportunities for people with disabilities.
The funding supports Easterseals Arc initiatives to use performing arts activities to enhance mental health and quality of life for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Performing arts can help individuals develop creative tools for self-expression; enhance coping skills; improve interpersonal skills; build self-worth; and enhance community integration.
Easterseals Arc will contract Indigo Group to lead:
- Interdisciplinary art sessions
- Virtual improve workshops connecting participants from different counties
- Virtual trainings for staff
- Performances working with community partners
The performing arts initiatives will include participants from Easterseals Arc in Fort Wayne. Easterseals Passages in Columbia City, and Easterseals RISE in Angola.
