Angola, Indiana — Easterseals RISE celebrated its move into a former Steuben County Economic Development Corporation building with a ribbon cutting and open house today.
In May 2021, Easterseals RISE announced plans to purchase the building at 907 S. Wayne Street and sell its Wohlert Street building. Doing so allowed the agency to reduce its debt by eliminating a mortgage and move into a space that could be configured to better suit Easterseals RISE program needs with less unused space.
“This new space will allow us to continue evolving and growing to meet the needs and interests of the people we serve,” said Crystal Church-Stavitzke, executive director at Easterseals RISE. “We can offer a wide variety of programming onsite, but one of the best advantages is the location near downtown. It supports our focus on helping individuals with disabilities become more involved with the community.”
As part of the ribbon cutting ceremony, leaders from Easterseals Arc of Northeast Indiana thanked two community leaders:
- Jennifer Danic, president and CEO of the Steuben County Community Foundation, was given an Award of Appreciation for her “unwavering support and guidance.”
- Isaac Lee, executive director of the Steuben County Economic Development Corporation, was given an Award of Excellence for his “outstanding leadership and support.”
