Whitley County nonprofit Passages, Inc. announced it will move its annual art auction to Oct. 7, 2021. The event was originally scheduled for Mar. 4. The rescheduled event also will take on a new name this year: the Easterseals Passages Spotlight on the Arts.
“We are excited to announce the combination of our art auction and banquet with our Spotlight Avenue theater performances,” Jason Meyer, president and CEO of Passages, said. “We weren’t able to hold a Spotlight Avenue performance in 2020 due to COVID, and our individuals are looking forward to performing.”
The event will include dinner, a silent auction, a live auction, and a Spotlight Avenue theater performance. In years past, Spotlight Avenue was a separate event. Due to the constraints of the pandemic, the two events have been combined for 2021.
“We were able to hold the art auction just before the pandemic shut everything down, and it was our largest fundraiser in 2020,” Amy Johns, director of development and marketing, said. “We are hoping the community will be happy to come to an event this fall and continue supporting our mission of passionately leading or assisting people with disabilities into a thriving and meaningful life.”
In December 2020, Passages announced it will merge with Easterseals Arc of Northeast Indiana, becoming Easterseals Passages. All donations given to Easterseals Passages will stay in Whitley County.
“I think it’s important for our supporters to know their dollars will stay right here in Whitley County,” Johns said. “If you sponsor, donate, or attend one of our events, your generosity will continue to support individuals served in this county.”
Passages would like to thank the sponsors who have already committed to this event: Scientific & Regulatory Consultants, Breyden Products, Ultra-USSI, Del Fuego LLC, The Van Buren Event Center and Huntington University.
